US News & World Report Names QHR Client Hospital Parkview Medical Center as High-Performing Hospital

Brentwood, Tenn. (October 18, 2011) – U.S. News & World Report recently named QHR client hospital Parkview Medical Center located in Pueblo, Colorado, as a "high-performing hospital” in five of 10 categories. Parkview’s five recognitions include; Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT), Nephrology, Neurology/Neurosurgery, Pulmonary and Orthopedics. U.S News & World Report selected only 140 hospitals, out of the nearly 5,000 evaluated, to be ranked as high performing in one or more of the 16 specialty areas.

"We are thrilled to see Parkview named as the only facility in Colorado south of Denver to receive designation in five specialty areas,” said QHR President and CEO James L. Horrar. "U.S. News & World Report’s recognition is a testament to our client hospital’s commitment to provide leading healthcare for Pueblo and for the entire state of Colorado.

”Mike Baxter, president and CEO of Parkview Medical Center said, "U.S. News & World Report’s recognition proves that you do not need to leave Pueblo to get excellent medical care. We are proud of the entire Parkview team for achieving this distinction: employees, physicians, volunteers, board of directors and QHR, have all played a role in enhancing patient experiences.

”Parkview Medical Center is the largest non-government, nonprofit, private sector employer in Pueblo County with 1,972 employees, 308 physicians, 350 general acute care beds and 20 long term beds, providing a full range of acute healthcare and behavioral health specialty services.
