As Vice President of Physician Practice Services, Ron Shafer coordinates all corporate resources related to physician recruitment and support of owned physician practice operations. During his 14-year tenure at CHS, including Vice President of Operations for Division V, Shafer has demonstrated an ability to forge strong relationships with physicians, understand their unique needs, and facilitate trust between hospital executive teams and medical staffs. In 2001, as CEO of Eastern New Mexico Medical Center in Roswell, Ron was named CEO of the Year. He has more than 30 years of hospital management experience, including work with HCA and Brim Healthcare, and is a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
David Baker oversees the CHS Medical Staff Development Department, which functions as a comprehensive physician recruitment firm, providing support for candidate selection and contract negotiation as well as education for recruiters and hospital leaders. Before joining CHS 12 years ago, David Baker spent 15 years as owner and physician recruiter for The Resource Company. His experience also includes physician recruitment for HCA as well as three years as a clinic administrator.
